Great opportunity to shape a sub-category within the Groups' Hardware Sourcing function. This specialises in End User Computing (desktop, laptops etc.)

This role sits within the Hardware Sourcing team and focuses on End User Computing, so all the distributed products and services associated with desktops, laptops etc. To put things into perspective, the overall spend in IT for this organisation is in excess of £1 Billion. Group IT Sourcing comprises of 35+ Buyers ranging from Analysts to Category Managers right up to the overall IT Procurement Director. So, there are plenty of opportunities for career progression.

Our client is moving from using tactical procurement skills like negotiating a price reduction; and shifting towards a new organisational design to support the application of deeper and broader proactive subject matter expertise and judgement in specialist supply markets across the full supply chain

Role Purpose:

Assist in the development of category strategies, taking direction to help manage the cost base by delivering opportunities that drive costs out through demand management, simplifying specifications and strengthening supplier relationships to mitigate risk and improve performance. Take guidance, and provide input, to manage aspects of the sourcing lifecycle ensuring the best value from Group wide agreements in support of Group strategic vision.

Requirements:

Blue Chip IT Sourcing - specifically end user computing
Degree or CIPS
