My Swindon based client is seeking a Buyer/ Purchasing Assistant/ Food & Drink Buyer for a permanent role

The Buyer/ Purchasing Assistant/ Food & Drink Buyer would be responsible for sourcing and developing a range of products for key categories in line with budgeted sales and profit targets, making full use of their retail buying experience and market sector knowledge.

Tasks for the Buyer/ Purchasing Assistant/ Food & Drink Buyer:
*You will be able to analyse sales and merchandising data, assess product performance, and manage working relationships with a long standing supply base on product both bought in' and bespoke to the client.

Essential Skill/ Knowledge for the Buyer/ Purchasing Assistant/ Food & Drink Buyer:
* To be successful you should be a highly pro-active individual and, with an interest or qualification in design, already be skilled at creatively briefing and developing new products working closely with UK suppliers.
* Ideally you will already be working within this sector however this is not essential and an interest in gift food would be an advantage.
* A good level of IT skills will be required including experience of working with computerised stock and sales systems whilst qualities including strong negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential to the role.
