I am currently working with a market leading organisation with a base in Caerphilly.
They are currently going through and exciting period and in-sourcing their Infrastructure. As a result they have an exciting opportunity for Technical Architect to join them initially on a 18 month FTC.
The purpose of the role is to design and manage the implementation of technical systems, including applications, server and networked architectures that support my clients core functions, and assure their high availability. Working with the Lead Technical Architect and Solution Architects to gain commitment for all technical and applications roadmaps, as well as evaluate and select all technologies required to complete those plans. The Technical Architect recommends highly secure, cost effective, high performing technical solutions, and provides technical leadership to the IS teams and management on a wide range of
technology areas.
Experience required -
- Broad knowledge and understanding of a complex applications and technology infrastructure.
- Good knowledge and understanding of system development life cycle and its implications on BAU service
- Good knowledge and understanding of incident management protocols and procedures
- Project initiation documents defining high-level technical scope.
- Technical requirements document describing the project's objectives, how the work will be done and listing the requirements for each area prioritised into mandatory, desirable and optional categories
- Desirable and Optional requirements will have an associated business case which will allow the project sponsor to make informed decisions about delivery of the project.
- Detailed requirements that enable the chosen solution to be developed and tested with minimal analysis support.
- Provide data for service line activities (issues, risks, availability, capacity, reporting, resourcing, financials) on the each of the key technical service
- Project initiation documents defining high-level scope when required
- Business requirements document describing the project's objectives, when required
- Business cases defining the costs and benefits associated with requested changes when required
You will be expected have most of the following skills -
- Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server & Clustering
- Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft Lync
- Microsoft SCOM
- Citrix XenApp 5 & above with provisioning services
- Active Directory, File & Print, DHCP, DNS
- SharePoint
- VMware 4 and above
- Knowledge of Networks and Firewalls
