Position: Permanent, full time, 36 hours per week. Salary:
Normal starting salary of £41,537 + 25 days leave (27 after 5 years’ service)

We currently require a Delivery Manager to oversee all projects and programme pipelines ensuring the smooth transition into the production environment.

The postholder will manage multiple interrelated projects from contract/proposal initiation to final operational stage & ensure that the programme is managed to maximise business benefits. You will straddle two strategic ICT services – business systems and infrastructure solutions – which have the two largest workforces in ICT.

This is new role in ICT, so you will establish standards for delivering these projects as well as leading on their delivery. There are four other Programme Managers in ICT Business Partnering Services and together you will achieve ICT programme excellence.     

The ideal candidate should be working in a large organisation on cross-cutting programmes of change where you will be responsible for all ICT related work packages and projects. You must have excellent negotiation skills and be credible and convincing in communications with non ICT and ICT staff, recommending the right solutions & realising anticipated benefits. You will be tenacious and timely in your reporting and be able to avert potential crises and failure. You will be flexible and able to absorb changes to requirements.

You will be working on a range of projects from short-term to long-term, giving you variety and interest.

Key Requirements

  •     BSc in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience
  •     Extensive knowledge and experience of Project Management methodologies, ability to lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities; and to control resources and all costs against project budget
  •     Ability to define project scope, goals and deliverables that support defined business needs; ability to define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle     
  •     Experience of the full project management life cycle and software development life cycle for the implementation of highly complex, large-scale, strategic IT and business initiatives 
  •     Experience of Transformation and Change programmes and evidence of delivering projects to successful completion   

Desirable:

    Familiarity with the security standards and all relevant legislation that affects security within the defined scope of authority
