Our Public Realm Division ensures that the London Borough of Hackney is clean, safe and accessible for all our residents, businesses and visitors. Our Streetscene team is responsible for the design and maintenance of all highway networks, footways, bridges and lighting on all public roads, contributing to the well being of our community and creating a sustainable public realm.
We are currently recruiting for a Highway Inspector to join our team. You will provide efficient and effective inspections of our roads and highways to ensure the safety of our public, making certain to comply with relevant Health and Safety and Highways legislation. You will provide professional guidance and brief contractors on any work required checking and ensuring that all work is carried out to the required standards.
Your experience within a similar role and qualification (or working towards) within Street Lighting, Civil Engineering or Highways is what we are looking for. Your excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate will help you to work with contractors and your attention to detail is key when carryout inspections. You will be able to independently manage your own time ensure your schedule of work is completed.
