Infrastructure 3rd line Support Engineer - RHEL, Netbackup, SAN, Solaris, VMWare
3rd
line Support Engineer required to work in a small team - should be used
to handling projects on their own and have strong hands on experience
in some of the following (in order of importance):
1. RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
2. Solaris
3. Solaris - ZFS
4. Solaris - Zones
5. EMC SAN storage
6. Netbackup
7. VMWare (vSphere, vCentre, vMotion)
8. Network - inc VLANs, WAN, and routing (ideally Cisco)
9. Firewall - inc VPN (ideally checkpoint)
10. Windows server
11. Windows - Active Directory
Ideally also, such a person will have worked in an ISP environment.
Soft skills:
ITIL knowledge
Process orientation
Documentation writing
Hardware (someone that has done the meccano side)
Ownership of issue
By
'meccano side' we mean that the infrastructure engineer must also have
worked from Cradle to grave ie spec'ing out a server, ordering it,
unpacking and assembling it, building the operation thru to shut down
and kicking it out. Anyone who does not know the names and
configurations of their current Servers wont be suitable - in this sense
someone who is hands on who has worked primarily for a private sector
SME is desirable.
If this appeals please send a CV with
a brief commentary as to your level of experience across of the 11
skill categories above (include similar/equivalent products used) and
any comments about the soft skills (We don't expect anyone to have all
11 technical skills by the way.)
Thank you.
(Unfortunately
we get hundreds of responses to every role which mentions support and
therefore need to ensure that you have read the spec and are keen &
suitable, and not just have set your system to autorespond.)
