Purchasing Officer, Stevenage, Defence, Hertfordshire 6months £24 per hour limited.
The Purchasing Officer's role is to implement as many catalogues as possible within the IGP (Industrial and General Procurement) UK Team in a six month period, using newly available e-catalogue tools.
Purchasing Officer Accountabilities
1.Manage the identification of e-catalogue opportunities and where feasible consider Group (i.e. UK + France + Italy combined) opportunities.
2.Identify implementation plan for each e-catalogue, per Supplier, per Category and per country
3.Communicate with, liaise with and manage supplier requirements for e-catalogue
4.Communicate with, persuade and manage IGP team members
5.Drive the behavioural changes across the business to embrace e-catalogue buying (change management process)
6.Communicate with, persuade and manage the Stakeholders team members
7.Train up the Stakeholders and IGP team members to raise an e-catalogue, and amend it
8.Write process for management of e-catalogue by an IGP team member and a Stakeholders team member, identifying how purchases made through the catalogue can be used to make purchasing decisions, change purchasing strategy and influence purchasing behaviour.
9.Report progress to IGP Head of Procurement UK
10.Provide briefs and reports for Senior Management reviews.
11.Liaise with UK and French work colleagues regarding e-catalogue tools
12.Identify and implement a dashboard that shows line items purchased, at what value and per catalogue, highlighting major purchasers/dept users.
13.Requirement to raise SAP orders in periods of peak activity.

4.Knowledge and experience of SAP (preferably Materials Management).
5.Excellent team building and communication skills, both written and verbal.
6.Excellent project management skills
7.Ability to manage a high level of complexity.
8.Ability to clearly communicate strategy and tactics across all personnel layers.
Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word; Powerpoint; Excel; Outlook) to a highly proficient level.
9.Use SAP to raise POs. This can be taught as part of on-the-job training.
