THE ROLE:
This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a growing strategic purchasing team. As part of a global group you will have responsibility to lead strategic purchasing activity on a set group of commodities with a spend in excess of £15m p/a. You will be tasked with focusing on cost down activities by working with existing suppliers to understand where their cost is and how to reduce this, as well as sourcing new suppliers. You will also have the opportunity to identify synergies with the rest of the group and opportunities to rationalise supply.

THE PERSON:
An experienced purchasing professional with experience of a retail, FMCG, pharmaceutical or fast paced environment or have strong transferrable skills if from out of these sectors. You will be familiar with taking an open book approach with suppliers in order to understand where their cost is and how to reduce this. Above all you will be keen to play a key role in the development and growth of the strategic purchasing function within this major global organisation. Candidates should either be degree or CIPS educated or if not have demonstratable achievements to compensate.
