An experienced Marine Engineering Professional is required to take up the post of Nuclear Procedure Engineer within the Nuclear Operations Department in HMNB Clyde.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience working within an electrical engineering role within a submarine operation or maintenance environment.
They will have completed the Nuclear Warship Support Course or achieved Category B Watchkeeper status (or higher). Previous experience writing procedures / control documentation and carrying out audit and inspections against these would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for producing control documentation and procedures for the maintenance of electrical systems found within Royal Navy submarines. Specific areas of responsibility will include drafting, amending and reviewing nuclear procedures for all classes of submarine and conducting various audit and inspection activities to ensure that quality, regulatory and safety requirements are met.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential
-Nuclear Warship support course or Category B watchkeeper or above.
-Time served electrical background, preferably to HNC Level.
-Submarine knowledge in areas such as reactor systems, ship systems and material compatibility.
-Effective communicator.
