This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Job Purpose
To provide an efficient and effective clerical and reception service within the School.
Main Tasks
- To provide a general reception service to members of the public and visitors to the school
- Word processing
- Cash handling
- Record keeping
- General office duties and other clerical tasks
Experience / Qualifications / Personal Qualities
Essential Criteria
- Previous clerical experience, including reception work, filing, record keeping and word processing
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office software
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Ability to use initiative and work under pressure
- Awareness of importance of confidentiality
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in an educational establishment
A recognised typing/ word processing qualification (e.g. RSA or Scotvec Word Processing 3)
Articulate and confident in verbal communication skills
