The purpose of this job is to provide a professional service, analysing data and issuing key information that covers all aspects of Common stock, Engineering Spares and Consumable item replenishment, whilst undertaking casework that requires specific attention to resolve complex problems.

Responsibilties of the MRP Controller:

* monitor and interpret data in terms of stock optimisation
* liaise with the Engineering team in order that all categories best reflect the needs of the business
* work across functional departmental boundaries supporting when there are fluctuations in workload
* actively participate in the delivery of departmental objectives such as de-duplication of stock, disposal of assets through sundry sales, cost and budget management
* plan and deploy procurement plans assuming accountability for processing orders, material replenishment, expediting deliveries from Suppliers
* agree and authorise the purchase of additional stock to meet the changing needs of the business
* ensure that the integrity of the Master Material data is accurate within pre-defined limits of control
* liaise with the Operations Controller in the expediting of orders to works areas and customer returns
* take an active role in identification for self development and demonstrate a positive attitude towards the function
* contribute to the departmental Health and Safety initiative through the identification and notification of any unsafe acts and proactive behaviours using the near miss database
* proactively seek opportunities to promote a safety culture within the raw materials function

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

* the jobholder must have strong attention to detail
* experience using MRP or SAP systems
* must have customer first mindset and have a conscious attitude to data quality, department goals and objectives
* experience of working within a stores/warehouse environment is essential
