Reports to: Senior Commodity Supply Chain Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide a complete supply chain service, pre-tender through to contract award and post contract management for the Labour and Indirects Category. Act as a primary interface for stakeholders and suppliers in the relevant category.

KEY DUTIES:
* Assist with the development and implementation of the Category Management strategy for the relevant Category Groups delivering improved value for money along with enhanced service and quality
* Primary responsibility for the preparation, negotiation, and management of supplier contracts, pre-tender through to contract award
* Primary responsibility for developing long-term proactive relationships with strategic subcontractors ensuring that suppliers are managed appropriate to their identified strategy.
* Actively engage with suppliers and internal functional stakeholders to improve supplier performance and relationship and aid the timely resolution of project and supplier queries
* Ensure all supply chain processes and document control complies with the appropriate SRAL standards.
* Establish and maintain interfaces with key SRAL functional departments at the appropriate levels
* Provision of reports to the Senior Commodity Supply Chain Manager detailing the
relevant category activities in a period
* Responsible for gathering and compiling delivery and performance information to aid analyse of Category Group performances.
* Maintain supplier contract databases
* Travel and overnight stays as business needs dictate
* Staff supervision may be required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Experience of through-life relationship management with strategic suppliers providing a business critical service, particularly in the contingent labour category
* Excellent commercial skills and experience of providing a supply chain service preferably within an engineering environment
* A proven track record of negotiating contracts and amendments for supply in both the UK and in Europe
* Ability to efficiently implement a commercial strategy across a high profile category base
* Ability to manage suppliers in line with commercial strategies
* Ability to negotiate the full tender process from RFI to award
* Ability to manage to a schedule and secure the support of others to achieve targets
* Ability to work with limited supervision
* Strong communicator with excellent written and oral communications skills
* Ability to make decisions within parameters set by manager
* Strong stakeholder management skills are essential
* Ability to operate effectively within a matrix management environment
* Proficient with Microsoft Office
