You will be expected to take full ownership of the assigned tasks, and to assist the customer and Project Manager in achieving the Project objectives.
Role Description / Responsibilities
Work with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support a number of work streams
Continuous Improvement
Non-conformance analysis, route cause & corrective action.
Process Capability, process improvement
Cost reduction.
New Product Introduction
DFM reviews
Process Planning, Inspection Planning, PFMEA
Specification of Tooling/Gauging etc
Capability Acquisition
Develop & introduce new technology/capability
Assessment of process maturity
Work with Research centres.
Desirable Experience / Knowledge / Skills
- Manufacturing Engineer with process improvement background
- Wide breadth of knowledge in manufacturing and improvement techniques
- Experience and understanding of machining, fabrication, inspection and modern manufacturing processes, Improvement tools & techniques, identification of route cause and implementation of corrective action
- Good presentation & communication skills, confident with clear and concise spoken and written word,
- Willingness to work on their own to push tasks through to completion.
Successful candidates will ideally have project experience involving disciplines & software such as:-
Six Sigma
PFMEA
Control Plans
DFM
Lean, Industrial Engineering
Process Control Methodology
Cause & Effect Analysis
Inspection Planning
Gauge R&R
DMAIC, 8D, PPAP
Project management/budget control
Effective communication and commercial awareness o MS Office & MS Project
Minitab
Qualifications:
Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.Suitable engineering experience will be considered as an alternative.
Potential Background
Candidates must have experience in the manufacture of high integrity components and ideally would have worked in a gas turbine manufacturing environment.
Ideally, candidates will have some experience in the following sectors:-
Gas turbine, OEM or Supply Chain.
Automotive with Engine / Supercharger / Turbocharger / Transmissions experience.
Steam turbine OEM or Supply Chain (e.g. power generation systems).
