Practical Action is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our new work in Francophone West Africa. Practical Action is an International NGO based in the UK focusing on the role that technology can play to reduce global poverty. We currently work throughout East Africa, Southern Africa, South Asia and Latin America.
In 2013 we are establishing a new long term presence in francophone West Africa with a small regional office based in either Senegal or Burkina Faso. The West Africa Coordinator will promote expansion of our knowledge sharing service Practical Answers and will build our consultancy work on energy access, climate change adaptation (including DRR and agriculture) and markets for Practical Action Consulting.
Applicant Requirements:Must have Master's Degree in French, English

 The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the region with substantial existing networks and contacts in francophone West Africa. You will be highly motivated and able to work independently, and you will have the knowledge and experience to support our work across a number of our technical areas. You will have the drive and expertise to secure strategic funding and will build our partnerships, portfolio and reputation across the region. You will be a brilliant tender/proposal writer, an effective project manager (and manager of consultants) and must be an exceptional communicator. You will be fluent in spoken and written French and English.
