 Company description:Assystem is seeking the right individuals to join our growing aerospace design team.

The positions of Senior and Principal Design Engineer are ideally suited to high calibre, innovative, mechanical engineers with appropriate post graduate industry experience. You will be given the opportunity to take a leading technical role on a variety of projects, particularly in aero-engines, as well as handling diverse design engineering tasks from general industry. You will be expected to take full ownership of the technical aspects and be able to effectively communicate these to the client.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate an appetite for challenge, and be adaptable to the needs of the business and our customers in order to contribute to successful growth. Key Requirements:

•  Candidates will ideally be degree qualified, and have experience of managing engineering activities to meet time, quality and cost objectives.
•  You will have experience of technical leadership and taking technical responsibility on projects involving relevant disciplines such as:

• Rotating machinery design and analysis

• High temperature structural design and analysis

• Mechanics & selection of materials

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and application

• Knowledge of component Mechanical Integrity requirements and analytical processes
• Deliver designs to budget & time constraints

Desirable Requirements

•     Aerospace or power generation design experience, in particular Gas Turbines
•     Chartered Engineer status, or working towards it
•     CAD modelling experience (in particular Siemens NX)
•     Appreciation of fluid mechanics & aerodynamics
•     Experience of Project Management & Risk Management and commercial awareness
