KEY PURPOSE

My client, a lead manufacturer of cutting edge electro-mechanical technology, seeks a Test Technologist to support their electronics development team. As a result of a drive to expand the technology side of my clients' organisation they are looking to recruit a Test Technologist to support their product development. The ideal candidate with have experience working as a Test Technician or Test Technologist within an R&D environment. This is an ideal opportunity for a Test Technician/ Test Technologist who is looking to use their circuit and component knowledge to add value to an electronic test environment at the developmental stages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To support the electronics engineers in the development of their product from:

-Prototype assembly of electronic components or systems (including: analog and digital circuitry, power transmission and distribution, signal and communication systems)

-Perform functional and environmental testing on new and existing circuits.

-Diagnose any electronics/electrical system errors.

-Debug, test and document any electronic/electrical test results.

-Providing suggestions to the electronics engineers of issues encountered.

-Using engineering expertise and understanding to make adaptations and modifications.

-Modify drawings where necessary.

-Complete value reports.

-May be required to develop, test and debug firmware for microprocessors/DSP systems.

EDUCATION

-Qualified to HND level as a minimum with experience.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE

-Exposure to an R&D environment fault finding on prototype products.

-Experience of functional testing to component level, debug, test and document all results.

-Experience of environmental testing is highly desirable.

-Able to modify or make amendments to electronic/electrical prototype systems.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

-Confident in your knowledge of electronics/electrical engineering to support the engineers.

-Elecro-mechanical and systems integration background would be ideal.

-Detailed analog and digital circuitry knowledge.

-Knowledge of the Development for Test lifecycle.

-Able to communicate and document findings.
