Leading Retailer - to work in their media/films buying.

Key Purpose of Role:
To manage the commercial offer and to maintain and develop relationships with studios and suppliers. To deliver a market leading offer through key title selection, competitive pricing, and promotional support - and to ensure delivery of the category budget and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

* Develop and champion the relationship across the business for the specific suppliers that you manage. Positive relationships are essential for this relatively new category.

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with Suppliers at multiple levels within their businesses, to leverage best possible commercial product opportunities, exclusives, competitive and market leading pricing and marketing support.

* Maximise commercial margins for company, to support overall budget delivery. This should include ongoing review of cost saving initiatives, as well as the progression of specific terms with these suppliers.

* To manage and inform digital strategy, engaging with all parts of the business in driving initiatives and ways of working which may be new to the business and to the supplier's.

* Establish and maintain - in conjunction with the Trading Manager, joint objectives supported by measurable KPI's with Suppliers, with particular emphasis on analysis of the category's ongoing results.

* Champion best practices and most effective use of systems in the business.

* Provide clear, consistent and timely feedback to requests / briefs from the other category teams and departments that support the commercial category, e.g. finance, operations, merchandise planning.

* Working closely with Category Marketing Team to deliver supplier marketing income budgets.

* Establish and/or maintain with suppliers a quarterly business planning and review process. Working with the Trading Manager you will understand and be able to utilise the detailed data available to you to enable effective planning and strategy building with each supplier.

* Ongoing management of stock with suppliers to ensure full availability on all range lines, ongoing assessment of product opportunities & clearing slow moving stock & faulty/returns out of business.

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

* Company Budget - Revenue, % Margin and Cash Margin
* Stock Targets including quality of stock measures.
* Growth of Market share by for the Category and for specific products.
* Personal performance objectives - Set by Trading Manager.

Requirements:
Previous experience at an appropriate commercial level within a purchasing / buying /sales role. Needs to demonstrate successful relationship management.
Experience within a fast paced, results driven business.
