A great opportunity within a rapidly expanding organisation for an experienced Food Buyer.
As Food Buyer you will have direct responsibility to manage certain ingredient categories, reviewing incumbent suppliers and sourcing alternative supply chain options to achieve opportunities in terms of cost optimisation, quality and service.
Due to a significant period of growth and with a future plan to explore new markets, my client is looking for an experienced Food Buyer to join their expanding procurement team.

Responsibilities:
* Maintaining the ingredient and packaging contract agreements and procurement commitments
* Utilising forecasting and stock management tools to create ordering patterns for materials
* Generate material forecasts to support appropriate future supply contract agreements
* Category management for various food categories, incorporating supplier search and selection and negotiation
* Gathering market and category information to evaluate and identify and mitigate commercial and technical risks
* Maintaining business systems with accurate information to enable optimum department performance
* Developing current systems and procedures where appropriate to deliver enhanced control and performance
* Influencing suppliers to meet requirements in terms of delivery time, conformance and quality standards
* Managing and improving relationships with suppliers keeping track of any issues that may interrupt supply
* Measuring, monitoring and reporting on supplier performances against agreed KPIs
* Ensuring there is regular and ongoing feedback with key stakeholders on all procurement issues
* Interpreting and presenting key department metrics, analysing successes and failures
* Managing ingredient and packaging importation from worldwide supply options
* Take on any other tasks and ad hoc duties as requested relating to the supply chain department and the wider business to support the department and business with appropriate control and development
Experience:
* Significant experience working in a FMCG procurement management and/ or buyer role within the food industry
* Good knowledge of the snacking and or manufactured goods sectors would be advantageous
* Demonstrable understanding of food ingredient markets
* Proven experience managing department personnel and multiple projects
* Be CIPS qualified or hold an equivalent qualification
* Experience of managing and influencing multiple stakeholders
* Experience and knowledge of worldwide ingredient importation and regulations
