The CSD is the senior account management role in the agency and is responsible globally for the health of all accounts and for the strength of our account management team.
Working closely with the Creative Directors, Operations Director and Managing Director, the CSD takes an active role in the development of the agencys direction.
Client Management:
-Ensures that all client relationships are strong, and profitable.
-Cultivates strong working relationships with senior client principals.
-Senior escalation point for all client relationships.
-Ensures account teams are following agency process regarding sales, service, scopes of work, change management, reporting (contact reports, status reports, etc.), calls, etc.
-Oversees account planning process, including growth development plans and forecasting.
-Monitors and oversees day-to-day activities of program execution through the account team.
-Oversees the analysis of all program results and pertinent marketing implications.
-Develops, manages, presents measurement/ success criteria for plan evaluation; manages client, agency expectations
-Participates in training sessions and business meetings to stay abreast of professional developments
Strategic Thinking
-Writes, contributes to or oversees the development of strategic and creative briefs; presents materials internally and to the client
-Ensures that strategic approaches are in use for all clients, and that client teams are following them.
-Oversees the quality execution of marketing solutions and proposals.
-Monitors the categories within which our clients operate, sharing competitive assessments.
-Shares best of breed work examples internally.
-Provides thought leadership in integrated communications (advertising digital, POS, direct, etc.), execution, measurement and analysis.
-Facilitates all research/ results measurement discussions, ensuring objectives and measurement benchmarks are clearly defined.
-Investigate, test, evaluate, develop new tactical concepts/ vehicles, media & technologies
-Assist in design/development / methodology of market research.
Team Management
-Cultivate the industrys finest account management group.
-Actively manage direct reports (Account Directors, Senior Account Managers, etc.), conducting annual reviews and development paths.
-Assign remedial and developmental training courses.
-Engender the spirit within the team, frequently engaging in team building activities.
-Raises and Promotions.
-Weekly account group meetings.
Finance
-Works with Account Directors / Commercial Director to generate account P&Ls and the group forecast.
-Ensures account profitability.
-Reviews all scopes of work.
-Submits annual account group budget for training and events.
Project Management
-Works with the head of Project Management / Director of Operations to ensure all projects are scoped and costed accurately, and completed on time and on budget
-Regularly review day-to-day activities of program execution account teams
Business Development
-Supervising the growth of existing client accounts through new proposals and recommendations.
-Participates in or leads new business pursuits
-Liaises with other functional areas to identify potential opportunities

-Attendance at all staff meetings and agency events
-Meets regularly with AD/ECD/MD and other senior personnel to contribute to the overall development & growth of agency.
