A Design Verifier is required by our Scottish Client who is a leading player in the UK rail infrastructure market and the largest conventional track renewals company in the country.

As the leader of their designated Design Team, on behalf of the Signalling Design Manager, the Design Verifier will lead, direct and undertake the independent checking of all plans / diagrams / drawings documentation produced by the team.
The Design Verifier will be responsible for the planning and organising activities and resources to meet programme deadlines.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS OF THE DESIGN VERIFIER:
1.Allocate roles, responsibilities and production activities within the design team.
2.Monitor progress of works within the team, advising the Signalling Design Manager at agreed periodicities, and agreeing alterations to programmes of work or working patterns as required.
3.Responsible for the design / checking of signalling schemes for new work and alterations to existing work.
4.Assist with design/checking and production of estimates and programmes of work for proposed work.
5.Analysis and interpretation of existing signalling circuits.
6.Deal with internal and client technical queries and requests.
7.Assist with testing and commissioning of signalling by mutual agreement.
8.Provide technical leadership and guidance within the team, promoting and supporting the ongoing development of competence of members of the team.
9.As directed, act as a mentor to individuals undergoing the Competency Certification arrangements.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
*Proficient in all categories of signalling design activity.
*Competent in design production techniques and skills for Signalling Systems.
*Ensure all work carried out is of an appropriate standard
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
1.Qualifications & Experience
*Appropriate technical qualifications e.g. ONC/HNC
*IRSE Licence holder as Principles Designer.
2.Business & Personal Competencies
*IT literacy, proficient in use of CAD systems.
*Leadership and motivation skills.
*Planning and organising skills.
*Interpersonal skills.
3.Additional Information
*May be required to work away from home.
