The hours of work are predominantly 0800-1630, 5 days from 7, however full flexibility is required.
Job Purpose:
To manage hygiene functions within the business category above, ensuring that all areas of accountability (as detailed below) are achieved.
Must Have: (Minimum)
1. Previous management experience in a manufacturing environment
2. Excellent leadership & communication skills
3. Structured and logical approach
4. Analytical skills / Problem solving skills / change management
5. Ability to challenge, identify and deliver Continuous Improvement
6. Drive and energy / able to work under pressure
Preferred:
1. Leadership/Management experience within hygiene
2. FMCG / Chilled Foods Experience
3. Relevant academic qualification i.e. HNC/D/Degree - Food manufacturing/food science or equivalent
4. If internal: Bakkavor Manufacturing Excellence programme - Bronze, Silver and Platinum
5. Intermediate Food Hygiene
6. IOSH or an equivalent Health & Safety Management course
Role Accountabilities:
1. To ensure 100% Internal & External customer service is met with consistently high quality output/product. To represent the Company in a professional manner with both internal and external customers and develops customer confidence in the capability of the Hygiene operation.
2. To ensure set standards are achieved and have the drive to supersede these standards in terms of visual and microbial improvements. To ensure that these standards are embedded throughout the Factory.
3. To ensure that the appropriate team structure is in place for the shift and resourced by the right quality of people who reflect the Bakkavor values and the needs of the business. Owns training and development of individuals within their area to enable progression to resource growth or to replace current roles, and to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all levels supporting continuous improvement.
4. To ensure that good employee relations are developed/exist throughout the shift through fair, consistent and effective application of HR policies and procedures.
5. To ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees and that as a minimum the factory meets the standards set out in the SHE policy.
6. To plan, organise and measure resources in terms of Productivity (people), Efficiency (equipment) to ensure agreed targets are met. To ensure all targets are understood and owned throughout the team. That results are achieved through the team, to maximise benefit and fall within expected cost parameters.
7. To ensure mechanisms are in place and utilised to provide effective communication to all employees and that they develop effective cross-departmental/functional links.
8. To develop/support a culture throughout the department where individuals feel able to challenge the status quo and encourage feedback from all levels. To drive/support continuous improvement processes/plans against all areas of accountability.
9. Understands/gives input to the manufacturing strategy and Factory Operational Plan and translates these into their shift plan. Ensures the shift plan is clearly understood and owned by the Shift team.
