IT & Telecoms Support Engineer
Aberdeen Operator

This is a very varied role which will be challenging but also really good fun as you would be joining a great team and a company whose reputation is unmatched in Aberdeen today. This role which is based in Aberdeen, is predominately based onshore but up to 30% of time could involve working offshore where an attractive daily allowance is paid.

The IT & Telecoms Support Engineer coordinates all support and planned maintenance to offshore based telecoms systems through in-house support teams, Healthcare contracts and specialist vendors. The position also supports the Offshore Field Telecoms Lead, The Ad-hoc Team Lead and the Offshore Coordination\Logistics team reporting directly to the Wells Operations Manager.

We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

- Offshore experience
- CCNA qualifications
- Energy Market (oil/gas) experience.
- Public address general alarms systems
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of telecoms equipment (such as VSAT)
- Knowledge and experience of the installation and configuration of voice network and telephony equipment (such as ISDX)

Requirements:

-Experience in supporting offshore Telecoms systems to supervisory level.
-Knowledge and experience of the installation, configuration and maintenance of
telecoms equipment (such as VSAT, Microwave Radio, PAGA, VHF/UHF Radio, Heli-Beacon, Mux etc.)
-Knowledge and experience of the installation and configuration of voice network and telephony equipment (such as ISDX)
-Knowledge of offshore production metering systems, Real Time Monitoring System, telemetry and hotline equipment.
-Knowledge of CAA radio licensing requirements for offshore/corporate operations.
-Knowledge of oil and gas offshore installation performance standards and verification and assurance procedures.
-Knowledge of offshore safe systems of work and Management of Change.
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
-Strong planning and organisational skills.
-A track record in service delivery, project management and management of change.
-Ability to mentor, advise and assist staff in the provision of services.
-Highly flexible and adaptable.
-Commercially aware with the ability to manage costs/budgets.
-Previous experience of using SAP and following procurement and supply chain procedures.
-Knowledge of other IT infrastructure areas, e.g. servers, desktops, data centres etc
-Comfortable in a minimum manning environment.

Qualifications:

-IT\Telecoms Degree or equivalent, HNC.
-OPITO approved offshore survival course.
-Cisco network certification.
-Recognised medical certificate.
-CompEx certification.
-MIST.
