polkadotfrog is currently recruiting for an experienced IT Systems Support Engineer / Systems Analyst based in Hardwick, Cambridge (general area) to work with our clients software infrastructure and to ensure this is robust and serves the business needs.

The successful candidate will be required to recommend IT infrastructure systems looking forward but a large part of the role shall be maintaining the systems. Within this new role you will be working with IT user issue resolution through a ticketing system ensuring in-house and "cloud-based" servers maintain 24/7 availability. As the Systems Analyst you shall be given the opportunity to work with senior management to get involved and eventually make technology choices that reflect industry best practice against the needs of the business.

Applicants shall be experienced dealing with the protection of corporate data and delivering IT "to budget" set by the board and agreed with the COO. The successful candidate will be required to run and maintain disaster recovery, backups, keep IT documentation current and up-to-date and daily monitoring the health of the IT network. It is essential you are able to work within small to medium sized teams where you are required to communicate to a multitude of people as well as manage your own workload.

Essential Requirements

* In depth knowledge of Exchange in an Active Directory Domain
* Knowledge of Windows Server
* In depth knowledge of Windows Server Components, Network Policy Server, WSUS, Group Policy and Terminal Server
* Understanding of databases such as MySQL and MSSQL
* Understanding of Linux operating systems especially Ubuntu 12.04
* Good knowledge of open source software
* Good knowledge of virtualisation technology specifically ESXi
* Good knowledge of network infrastructure switches , firewalls and wireless
* Familiarity with Amazon Web Services as a hosting platform is preferred

The following skills would be of benefit, but not essential:

* Subversion (SVN) administration
* OTRS (Help desk) administration
* Jira and Jenkins (bug tracking and build server) administration
* Bugzilla bug tracking system
