An exciting opportunity working for a large Construction company in the North West.
Project Engineer/Construction Manager
Project Engineer and Construction manager with mechanical engineering
background in the PetroChem or Water Services Industries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical engineering input into design and specification of plant
and equipment.
Prepare mechanical specifications for equipment to allow procurement.
Manage the construction phase of all aspects of multi engineering discipline
projects from contract award to handover.
Manage and report on progress, ensuring all interdependent activities are
monitored and controlled.
Ensure CDM and HSE roles and responsibilities are implemented and
complied with as appropriate, through all phases of the life of the project.
Monitor and report on project finances.
Identify and report against resource requirements for all engineering
disciplines.
Pre-Qualify equipment vendors and sub-contractors for technical and
contractual suitability.
Prepare, in conjunction with appropriate engineering discipline specialist,
scope of work packages reflecting the design and contractual requirements of
the project.
Carry out bid tabulation for equipment and subcontracts, in conjunction with
the relevant engineering discipline specialist.
Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the technical and
commercial compliance.
Manage the installation phase of multi discipline contracts
Experience & Background:
Degree/HNC in Mechanical Engineering with minimum ten years experience
in a similarly responsible role.
Have sufficient experience, understanding and confidence to effectively
interact with all engineering design and construction disciplines/activities.
Considerable awareness of safety requirements associated with all aspects of
construction.
Understand and be able to initiate and manage permit to work systems and
risk assessments for all aspects of construction within the PetroChem and
Water Services industry.
Ability to initiate, plan supervise work with minimum guidance/instruction.
Have contractual/commercial awareness.
Experience and confidence to liaise with Clients and Subcontractors.
Understand implication of changes to contract scope and manage them
