THE JOB
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Account Manager will be responsible for leading the relationship and management of all relevant Head Office, or other central decision-making, contacts of a portfolio of national customers.
The successful candidate will actively facilitate professional working relationships with all links across the supply chain, to ensure the successful delivery of the aligned account plans.
Using existing knowledge, experience and all the available tools, a good balance between securing new and defending existing business, thereby ensuring that the company remain the Brand and partner of choice. Identify and demonstrate value delivery to relevant contacts working to the agreed account strategies. Evaluate national data and utilise this information to demonstrate the relevance and success of these account strategies and demonstrate category management leadership. Manage the commercial aspects of all relationships.
KEY TASKS:
"Effective Account management to deliver against agreed plans.
"Monitor sales and stock performance of customer, making recommendations to customers as appropriate.
"Deliver in line with established standards; as well as working to improve those standards in a structured way.
"Identify and manage professional relationships between relevant stakeholders.
"Use relevant data and tools to identify and understand opportunities and build a compelling case for customers.
" Gain clear understanding of the customer's definition of value, and develop individual plans to deliver against this customer specific insight.
"Ensure professional face at all times.
"Monitor market situation, and competitor activity.
"Attend and contribute to sales meetings, providing requested reports, bringing new ideas and offering feedback to contribute to account strategies.
"Ensure all successful and timely delivery of those aspects of the account plans which you have responsibility for.
The Successful Account Manager:
The successful candidate will have previous Account Management and Relationship Management experience You will ideally have a good standard of education with a sound commercial knowledge of the construction industry, with an understanding of the planning process and the implications of building regulations and other influencing legislation. Ideally you will have the ability to understand working drawings in 2D and translate into a 3D sales story.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Location - Midlands ( LE, NN, MK, OX, WR, DY, WV, TF, ST, WS, DE, B, CV) postcode areas) The role covers a pre-defined regional geographic area, therefore, there will be a large amount of travel within the area, and potentially to contact points outside the area. As such, the role may require the successful candidate to travel and stay away from home on a regular basis.
