1st-Executive are currently recruiting on behalf of a FTSE100 oil and gas organisation for the position of interim Packaging Engineer, based in Swindon. This high profile role will be responsible for managing supplier relationships for packaging materials, ranging from Oil Drums, Bottles, Caps and Buckets to large containers.

Coming from a blue-chip oil and gas, chemicals or FMCG background the successful applicant will have an opportunity to change the way the client manages their packaging category globally and will enjoy extensive exposure to senior leadership within the client.

Further details/responsibilities:

* Remit of the role is to audit and make sure suppliers are compliant and that they integrate successfully with operations.
* The jobholder needs to be able to manage and agree specifications of products and produce necessary documentation.
* The job holder will be responsible for overseeing quality of products and managing the testing process.
* Ad-Hoc support for technical issues, leading investigations as necessary. The jobholder will have to look at the production facilities and capabilities of suppliers to ensure standards are maintained.
* Lead pack engineering activities throughout Europe & Africa region, ensuring all pack components are fit for purpose, specifications that conform to global standards, Global Test Protocols and Guidelines are implemented in region.
* Conduct Packaging Supplier Qualification Audits to global standards and undertake root cause analysis and investigate packaging issues / incidents in the E&A region.
