Role Profile

The Category Manager, working for a major procurement consortium based in Warrington, will manage and assigned category spend across my client's customer base. The role successful candidate will formulate, develop and hold primary responsibility for category strategy planning.

Reporting directly to director level, this role requires a capacity for analysis of data and both financial and statistical information, benchmarking responsibility and other commercial activity.

Key responsibilities include:

- Development of the continuous engagement of key external stakeholders, ensuring the highest level of performance and customer service is maintained.

- Management of the tendering wider procurement processes in line with EU procurement regulation where necessary.

- Interaction with clients on category performance and development.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

- Experience in a public sector procurement environment

- Ability to lead procurement projects negotiation skills

- General commercial awareness

- Experience of large scale procurement activities

- Strong communication skills

- CIPS qualification desirable

- Full driving license (a degree of travel will be required)
