Job title:Head of GI Reserving
Head of GI Reserving: 6 month contract
ROLE DEFINITION ? To lead the regular review and analysis of the GI reserves.
? To manage the GI Reserving standard and ensure compliance across the GI businesses.
? To ensure that group and business unit reserving processes are supported by appropriate systems, processes and controls.
? To draft reports on reserve adequacy
? To support analysis included in presentations of the GI results to investors and analysts
? To maintain effective relationships with the GI business units, auditors and other external stakeholders.
? To participate in [and lead] elements of the review of business unit financial results and plans
? To support business units in their implementation of best practice GI reserving techniques with particular attention to those business units requiring the greatest support
? To maintain a high level of awareness of industry and competitor reserving developments and to benchmark reserving strength against other companies
? To lead and support related actuarial and financial management activities as required, including solvency II developments, financial reporting
QUALIFICATIONS Degree/MBA. Professional actuarial or other relevant professional qualification.
EXPERIENCE • Minimum 3 years practical
SKILLS • Excellent understanding of modern actuarial skills, processes and techniques
• Broad understanding of GI insurance market to include capital management and financial reporting as well as reserving.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and application to insurance industry
• Knowledge of best practice in similar multinational functions.
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements.
• Broad awareness of regulatory regimes/statutory requirements
• Knowledge of financial systems, processes & controls
• Good understanding of project management disciplines
• Interest in overseas cultures/languages
