The School of Computing is one of the leading players in computing and IT, with extensive expertise in research and development and collaborative working relationships with multinational companies.
We are seeking to recruit a talented Research Fellow to focus on investigating cutting-edge technologies in cloud-based real-time applications. Working jointly with another Post-Doctoral Research Fellow you will design and develop a quality-aware cloud-based real-time application system (e.g., for business intelligence) taking advantage of distributed databases over the cloud. This will encompass preparation of high-quality scientific papers and funding proposals.
The successful candidate should possess a PhD in Computing or Electronic & Electrical Engineering and have a proven track record in publishing peer-reviewed papers in renowned journals and premier conferences. Experience of designing and implementing algorithms/protocols for time-constrained applications, especially real-time communications, media-aware visual applications and quality of service/experience evaluation are crucial to the role along with experience in test-bed development and cloud computing and networking research, and proficiency in computer programming.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, good project management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team, collaborating with colleagues and sharing expertise are also essential.
